Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

The anti-slavery and human trafficking statement, due diligence, supply chain checks, and whistleblowing commitments for this waste carrier business.

Last Updated: 29 July 2026Template Legal Page

Introduction And Scope

This statement is published to meet the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and similar legislation where relevant. It covers the steps taken to prevent modern slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking in our own operations and in the supply chains we control.

Waste and recycling is a sector with known higher-risk exposure to informal labour, sub-contracted driver teams, and informal cash-in-hand payments for sorters at transfer stations. We take this risk seriously and our due diligence procedures are written specifically for the waste industry.

Our Business And Supply Chain

Our direct operations include booking, customer service, waste collections, transport, and waste transfer note management. Supply chain partners that we rely on include transfer stations and disposal sites, subcontract haulage teams, asbestos and specialist removal partners, vehicle maintenance, and the banks and payment processors we use.

For every new disposal site or subcontractor we onboard we check waste permits, insurances, employer liability certificates, and where available SafeContractor or CHAS records before any work is approved.

Policies And Due Diligence

We maintain a written anti-slavery and trafficking policy, a whistleblowing policy, and a zero-tolerance approach to any form of forced, bonded, or trafficked labour in the business or supply chain. All office staff and crew foremen receive annual awareness training and new recruits complete an induction module on the topic.

High-risk suppliers, including subcontract teams and any partner with a higher proportion of migrant or agency labour, are subject to additional checks including payroll compliance, right-to-work evidence checks, pay-rate evidence, and — where legal — site visits to working conditions.

Whistleblowing

Any member of staff, agency worker, supplier, or customer who suspects modern slavery, forced labour, or trafficking in our operations or our supply chain is encouraged to report it. Reports may be made in confidence through the office telephone line, by email, or through the formal whistleblowing route documented in our internal policies. We will not victimise anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith.

Performance And Future Steps

Each year we review this statement, update the list of supply chain partners we have checked, and record any training, incidents, or corrective actions. The final live statement should be signed by a director, dated, and reviewed annually as required by the turnover thresholds in the 2015 Act.
